INTERVENSI HOLISTIK UNTUK KESEHATAN BAYI SEBAGAI UPAYA PENCEGAHAN STUNTING

Abstrak

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem affecting child growth and development, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life. Prevention can be achieved through a holistic approach including immunization, growth monitoring, and developmental stimulation. This community service activity aimed to improve mothers’ knowledge and optimize infant health through holistic interventions in the working area of Likupang Timur Public Health Center. The method included preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages involving 50 mothers and infants. The intervention consisted of education on immunization and infant massage, provision of complete basic immunization, anthropometric measurements (weight and height), and infant massage practice. Evaluation was conducted by measuring mothers’ knowledge before and after education and assessing participant satisfaction. The results showed that all infants (100%) received complete immunization, most had good nutritional status (86%), and 68% received exclusive breastfeeding. Mothers’ knowledge improved significantly from 20% to 80%, with the mean score increasing from 58.2 to 79.8. Participant satisfaction was high, especially in the education aspect (92%). However, infant massage coverage remained low (30%). This holistic intervention was effective in improving mothers’ knowledge and supporting infant health to prevent stunting.
