Background: Stroke is a leading cause of disability and has a significant impact on patients’ quality of life. Family support plays an important role in the adaptation process, recovery, and continuity of care for stroke patients. Most previous studies have used quantitative approaches; therefore, in-depth understanding of family support experiences remains limited. Objective: This study aimed to explore in depth the experiences of family support in relation to the quality of life of stroke patients. Methods: This study employed a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach. Participants were selected using purposive sampling based on the inclusion criteria. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis until data saturation was achieved. Results: The analysis identified four main themes: (1) patients’ emotional responses after a stroke attack, (2) the need for information and education regarding stroke care, (3) family adaptation in caring for stroke patients, and (4) the family’s role as the main motivator in the care process and improvement of patients’ quality of life. Conclusion: Family support plays a very important role in improving the quality of life of stroke patients in physical, psychological, social, and environmental aspects. Active family involvement should therefore be continuously strengthened in stroke nursing care services.
